At Mother Nurture our goal is to assist you in every possible way to meet your breastfeeding goals.  Please give us a call to see how we can help before giving a bottle.  All questions and concerns are important and it is always best to call early before small problems escalate into larger ones.  Mother’s support person is welcome to attend all of our services.

Private Consultations
While breastfeeding is natural and ideal for mother and baby, sometimes circumstances arise where we need guidance and support or simple reassurance that breastfeeding is going well.  Consultations are available in our office or at your home.  Our lactation professionals can help with:

·Nipple or breast pain

·Latch on difficulties

·Flat or inverted nipples

·Milk supply issues (low milk supply or oversupply)

·Slow weight gain

·Crying or colicky baby

·Thrush

·Plugged ducts and Mastitis


We also provide services for unique circumstances such as:

·Breastfeeding a premature baby

·Breastfeeding multiples

·Relactation and adoptive breastfeeding

·Returning to work outside the home

·Pumping and storing milk

·Babies with special health needs

·Medications and breastfeeding

·Transitioning from formula supplementation to full breastfeeding.


Initial Consultations consist of a thorough history, pre and post feeding weights, assessment of latch, development of breastfeeding plan and report to health care providers.


Follow up Visits provide a way to check the progress of the breastfeeding process.A weight check, assessment of latch and complete review and update of breastfeeding plan are included in each follow up visit.


Pumping Consultations include a detailed review of Mother’s pumping session, to include:assessment of proper pump use, flange size and supply.Recommendations for increasing supply, pumping schedules and helpful resources are provided to facilitate the process.


NEW! Welcome Home Prevention Packages:

These packages make great gifts. Purchase a package before your baby is born. This entitles you to a home visit with our IBCLC the day you get home or the next day. She will assess your progress and clear up any misinformation to prevent problems from even getting started. Two packages available:

  • Welcome Home Package - includes one at home consultation with telephone follow up support.
  • Deluxe Welcome Home Package - includes one initial consult and two follow up consults at your home.

What to expect:  Initial consultations usually last about 2 hours, but the flat fee covers any amount of time needed to help with your concerns.Follow up appointments are generally about 1 hour.Full report is sent to Mother’s and baby’s primary care physicians and we can work with your physician to promote a positive breastfeeding outcome.A 24 hour notice is required for cancelled appointments.A credit card number must be provided upon appointment scheduling as the full fee will be charged for no-shows (not cancellations) to compensate our dedicated professionals.
