Mother Nurture Services Breastfeeding Support Services
At Mother Nurture our goal is to assist you in every possible way to meet your breastfeeding goals. Please give us a call to see how we can help before giving a bottle. All questions and concerns are important and it is always best to call early before small problems escalate into larger ones. Mother’s support person is welcome to attend all of our services.
Private appointments with our International Board Certified Lactation Consultants
Our lactation professionals can provide advice and solutions to a wide range of breastfeeding challenges, including, but not limited to sore nipples, increasing milk supply, weight gain, oversupply, thrush, clogged ducts, mastitis, special needs babies, adoptive nursing and transitioning from formula supplementations to full breastfeeding.

Initial consultations usually last about 2 hours, but the flat fee covers any amount of time needed to help with your concerns. Follow up appointments are generally about 1 hour. Full report is sent to Mother’s and baby’s primary care physicians and we can work with your physician to promote a positive breastfeeding outcome. A 24 hour notice is required for cancelled appointments. A credit card number must be provided upon appointment scheduling as the full fee will be charged for no-shows (not cancellations) to compensate our dedicated professionals. Weekly Latch Check Clinic
Thursdays at 11:30am $15.
The latch check clinic is recommended for all Mothers in the first or second week after delivery or for any Mothers unsure of their breastfeeding any time postpartum. During the latch check clinic, lactation professionals will assess the baby’s latch at the breast. We will go over proper latch technique, positioning at the breast, recognizing feeding cues and basic breastfeeding management. Many times, breastfeeding goes well after delivery, but becomes more challenging once the milk comes in and the support is gone. Please come to our latch check clinic to get help with some of the most common breastfeeding problems. Many serious breastfeeding problems, such as sore, bleeding nipples, can be avoided by ensuring that the baby has a good latch at the breast. It is NOT ever normal for breastfeeding to hurt or be painful. This is often an indication of a latch problem. This can be a great way to reassure Mom that everything is going well, work out the kinks or determine that more serious professional counseling is necessary. The Latch Check Clinic is not intended for serious breastfeeding problems such as severe weight loss, mastitis, reestablishing breastfeeding, etc. Please call us (859.335.5949) if you are unsure about whether Latch Check Clinic is right for you. If the Latch Check Clinic is not able to meet your needs, we will refer you to a Lactation Consultant or other Health Care Provider for further care.
Breastpump Trials
By appointment $20
Try before you buy! Try each of our personal use double electric purchase pumps or our hospital grade rental breastpumps. Fee is refunded or waived with the purchase of a double electric breastpump or rental of a breastpump from Mother Nurture. Due to cross-contamination concerns, Mother’s milk may not be kept when trying personal use pumps. Milk may be kept when trying the hospital grade rental pumps. All breastpump parts are fully sterilized in an Autoclave between users. Breastpump Trials are recommended a few weeks after delivery. Breastpump Trials are NOT for pregnant women.

Baby Weight Checks
Our baby weigh scale measures your baby’s weight to the gram. Mother’s may do a weigh-nurse-weight to determine the amount of milk transferred by the baby during a nursing. Note: All scales are different. Baby’s experiencing weight gain problems should be weighed on the same scale to accurately determine weight gain.
Hospital-Grade Breastpump Rentals
Mother Nurture is pleased to now be offering rentals of Medela Symphony and Lactina Hospital-Grade Breastpumps. The Symphony and Lactina are currently used in local hospitals. Moms who need to begin pumping to establish their milk supply while baby is still in the hospital will receive the kit in the hospital. The kit includes the individual pieces which should not be shared (basically everything but the motor). Moms who choose to rent a pump for a short time instead of purchasing a quality pump or Moms who need a hospital grade pump after hospital discharge will need to purchase their kit. We are also offering a nice carrying bag. Rental pumps will include a hard plastic carrying case, but there is no room for the kit pieces in these cases. The carrying bag has enough room for the kit & storing pumped milk and is more discrete than the plastic cases. The carrying bags may be more convenient for Moms returning to work while still renting a breast pump or in other situations where you may not want to make it obvious that you're carrying around medical equipment.

Special Orders
We are able to special order many items that are not carried in our regular inventory. Some of our suppliers require minimum orders, so if you only need a few things your order may be added to our next order with the company. Sometimes suppliers will accept a smaller order for a fee. We can provide you with details at the time of your order. Prepayment is required for special order items. Money will be refunded if we are unable to order your item.
Many of our new items have been selected based on customer requests. Please offer suggestions or let us know what you’re looking for. We may not get it right away, but we will keep your comments in mind when selecting new products.
